Notice of Race
The 2012 Etchells Regattas
1.0 GENERAL
Etchell Fleet 25 of the Lake Champlain Yacht Club (LCYC) will conduct the following regattas:
E-1 June 11, 2012 (Monday evening)
E-2 June 25, 2012 (Monday evening)
E-3 July 16, 2012 (Monday evening)
E-4 July 30, 2012 (Monday evening)
E-5 August 13, 2012 (Monday evening)
2.0 RULES
The Etchells Regattas are governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing , except as altered by the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions, and the rules of the International Etchells Class.
3.0 RACING AREA
The racing area will include Shelburne Bay.
4.0 COURSE
The courses will be displayed from the Race Committee boat in accordance with the current LCYC Sailing Instructions. A minimum of one (1) race shall be completed to constitute an Etchells Series event.
5.0 START
1730 Harbor Start
1810 Etchells flag up/1 sound for Warning signal
1811 Preparatory flag up/1 sound for Preparatory signal
1814 Preparatory flag down/1 long sound One-minute to Start
1815 Etchells flag down/1 sound Start
Subsequent races will start as soon as practical following the finishing of the last boat
of the prior race. I
6.0 RACE SCHEDULE
Monday night E Series races will continue as late as practical, given the amount of wind and daylight.
7.0 TROPHIES
The Kelemen Cup is the overall Etchells fleet trophy awarded to the winner of the combined A/B/C/D and Etchells Series. In scoring this series there will be one throw-out for every four races sailed. In the event of a tie, rules from General Information, Paragraph 5.4 of the 2012 LCYC NORs will be followed.
